Municipal Solid Waste (MSW) Treatment

In 1986, the MSW treatment branch was founded in the institute. From 1987 to 1993, the solid waste harmless project financed by grant from British Overseas Development Office was executed. Some technicians were sent to inspection in Europe studied overseas advanced technique, actively recommended new technology, new equipment. So, improved increasely the technical level, accumulated wealth experience, and trained a number of professionals.

The institute, one after another, has undertaken the designs and technical consults of more than 40 projects on MSW treatment and disposal, including Tianjin, Haikou, Hangzhou, Chongqing, Taiyuan, Huhehot, Liaoyang, Jiujiang, Yueyang, Fuxin, Wanzhou, Cixi, Akesu, Wuzhong , Shangqiu, Xinxiang, Dandong, Weifang, Jining, Changji, Hengshui, Zaozhuang , Xiamen and more than a dozen of town around Three Gorges Reservoir in Chongqing area. Its technologies include MSW's sanitary landfill, composting, incineration, leachate treatment, landfill gas comprehensive utilize, medical solid waste and dangerous solid waste. Incineration treatment, as well as compiling environment sanitation specialized planning. After having built up, above mentioned projects have been put into normal operation and reached up their expected sound effects, i.e. good environmental benefit and social benefit, as well as having accumulated plentiful experiency in engineering design and technical consultation of MSW treatment and disposal.
