City Gas
I. City gas transmission & distribution project and gas transportation pipeline project.
Since the early 1960s, the institute has engaged in the design of city natural gas and manufactured gas transmission and distribution projects, more than 200 large-sized projects have been finished until now. During the long term of designs, have accumulated abundant practical experiences, and grasped lots of advanced techniques, such as large-sized high-pressure gas sphere tanks, large-sized and serial low pressure gasholder, automatic control systems, regulation control etc. utilized foreign and domestic advanced design software, such as networks dynamic simulation softwar e (TGNET), with yearly accumulated design experience developed city gas networks hydraulic analysis software, pipe stress analysis software, CAD software etc.. In the city gas transmission and distribution engineering designs, it has been taken the leading position in technical level and technical measures. For many years, it has completed designs of city gas transmission and distribution projects of several dozens of middle-and large-sized cities in China. Of them, there are Beijing city importing Shan-Gan-Ning Natural Gas Project including Xiaotun storage and Distributing Plant, in their designs 10000m 3 high-pressure sphere tanks were utilized firstly in China (won the second class prize for excellent design of Construction Ministry), as well as Tianjin City importing Shan-Gan-Ning Natural Gas High-Pressure Gasholder Station Project (won the excellent design silver medal at sta te of ) . In the ¡°west gas transporting to east¡±, ¡°Sichuan gas transporting to east¡±, ¡°Guangdong LNG¡±, ¡°Russian gas supplying to south¡± etc. projects, the institute has undertaken the designs & consults of Hangzhou, Ningbo, Nanjing, Zhenjiang, Changzhou, Hefei, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Harbin, Changsha etc. city natural gas utilizing projects.
In the designs of long distance transportation pipelines, by using technical superiority, the institute has undertaken ¡°Yunan branch of to east transportation pipeline¡± and region gas transportation pipelines etc. projects.
II. City gas source project
The institute has finished lots of designs in different types and capacities of gas source plants, whic h include coke ovens, continuous vertical retorts, heavy & light oil gas plants two-stage gasifies etc., for Beijing, Tianjin, Shanghai and other capitals of provinces. Those are important contribution to improve city environment and people living standard. Among them, the heavy oil gasification process, the light oil gasification process, and two-stage gasification process of the institute have been taking the leading position in technical level in China. So national gold or silver medals of excellent design have been won several times.
III. LPG engineering
The institute has engaged in designs of LPG storage, transportation, distribution projects for about 40 years. It is in the leading position and has gained higher reputation in designs of projects technical development of special LPG equipments, compilation of LPG codes and standards etc. So its achievements have won numerous scientific advanced prizes and excellent design prizes of state and ministry. The institute has finished designs of LPG storage and distribution stations and evaporation and air-LPG mixing stations etc. for more than 100 cities in China. In the recent 20 years, using abroad advanced evaporation and air-LPG mixing equipments and controlling techniques, many key cities have built up Large-sized air-LPG mixing stations, such as Nanning, Liuzhou, Shenzhen, Zhuhai, Urumuq, Jinan, Suzhou, Wuhan, Chansha etc., that is a great promotion for development city gas industry in china.
IV. Compressed natural gas (CNG) & liquefied natural gas (LNG) supply projects and car gas line filling station
In order to solve the fuel gas supply problem for middle-and small-sized cities, combining CNG technical progress, the institute has finished the designs of CNG and LNG supply projects of Bengfu, Miyun, Yanqing and Pinggu etc. one after another with good results.
Along with increasingly serious environmental problem, using clean energy, such as LPG or CNG, as car fuel is an effective solution to treat car tail gas pollution. By means of practice works in recent years, the institute has grasped skillful design technique on car gas filling stations of various fuel gases, and has finished many LPG filling stations and CNG filling stations for large-and middle-sized cities. That has broadened the utilizing scope for city gas and made contribution for environmental protection.
V. City gas technical service and consult
For many years, as the technical development center in city gas field, the institute has provided lots of technical service and technical consult to nationwide city gas sector. As a result, the concerning sectors and service units have granted the institute several times.
¡¶ City Gas Design Code ¡· mainly compiled by the institute has been fully revised 3 times, and is the specialized code for gas engineering design. The code has been providing the important buse for gas engineering in design, construction, administration and education, and playing the great role in scientific, reasonable and safe construction of the gas engineering.
The institute has compiled many manuals and teaching materials, contributing into the technical progress of whole gas industry. Such as ¡¶ Gas Design Handbook ¡· , ¡¶ Gas Planning and Design Handbook ¡· , ¡¶ Gas Equipment & appliance Manual ¡· , ¡¶ Gas & Heating Use-general Data Handbook ¡· and ¡¶ Gas Worker Technical Training Teaching Materials ¡· etc..
For many years, the institute utilizes its own technical advantages to provide lots of technical consultations to national and local concerning authorities, which include policy studies, gas planning, construction schames , and feasibility appraisable etc..
